Stem cells are the next frontier of medicine, used to treat osteoarthritis, back pain, and all sorts of chronic diseases. Stem cells are the naïve cells that have the ability to divide indefinitely.  They may functionally change into any cell in our body and can integrate to the target tissue, either in the presence or absence of damage. I use it to treat degenerative joint disease, multiple sclerosis and chronic fatigue syndrome, but there is no limit to the extent that stem cell therapy, used in conjunction with an active lifestyle and excellent nutrition, can be used as part of an age management program. The procedure involves a manual liposuction technique performed in the office to harvest about ½ cup of adipose tissue from the belly or from the love handles.  This is all done under sterile technique while you are awake, using local anesthesia so you don’t feel any pain.  There is mild pressure and a little bit of discomfort during the brief liposuction procedure, but once some of that fat you just donated is sent to the lab, that will all become a distant memory.  Now you have stem cells in the bank for future doses that can last you decades!
